Power plant of Jorf Lasfar
The operation to pour the turbine slab for unit 5 of the Jorf Lasfar power plant was undertaken late into the night of 14 to 15 January. It consists of a slab supporting the 11 m high turbine, seated on eight pillars. The slab measures 12 m wide, 32 m long and 3 m thick. It is made up of 600 m3 of concrete and 150 tonnes of steel reinforcement. The operation required more than 11,200 hours worked over a period of three months. The pouring itself lasted more than 12 hours. Pouring the second turbine slab (unit 6) started at about 3 pm on 3 March. Everything went smoothly and it was completed after a long working night for the team responsible for pouring.
These particularly delicate operations demonstrate once again the quality of work and expertise of the BYMARO teams.
